Pioneer Profile: Kristina Bazan

Kristina Bazan is the 23-year-old, Geneva-born fashion and beauty blogger behind Kayture, which she launched in 2011 with then-boyfriend turned business partner, James Chardon. Many recognize her as the highest paid fashion and beauty blogger in the industry, raking in nearly $2.5 million in brand deals. Since its initial launch 6 years ago, Bazan's blog has gained a cult following, raising her to "it Girl" status. Kayture features editorial style photos of Bazan’s fashion, musings and travels. Through her blog, Bazan is a model, influencer, stylist and creative director, rolled into one. Her blog is aimed at luxury as a way of life, featuring everything from feminine, classic elegance to edgy and minimalist looks. Bazan writes in a personal tone, that is both intelligent and witty. Her content shows her personality, open-mindedness, and ambition. The original content she produces herself highlights her creative vision and unique aesthetic, which in turn has earned her over 2 million followers of her blog and 2.4 million followers on Instagram. The popularity of Kayture opened many doors for Bazan in a short amount of time. Within two years of launching her blog, Bazan was cast in a widely popular Louis Vuitton digital campaign. From there, she has paired up with other big luxury brands like Hugo Boss, Paiget, Dior, Thierry Mugler, Cartier and Dolce & Gabbana. In 2016, at the age of 22, Bazan came in second on Forbes’ 30 Under 30: Art and Style list, after plus-size model Ashley Graham. Not only are luxury brands calling her up, but beauty powerhouses are reaching out in hopes of working with the successful influencer. Most notably, Bazan signed on as a brand ambassador for L’Oréal Paris, collaborating on a makeup collection under a rumored seven-figure contract. Kayture has transformed Bazan from fashion blogger to highly coveted "it Girl." From the cover of Vogue Portugal to backstage at the Victoria’s Secret fashion show, and now to California to pursue a career in music, Bazan proves that social media and a strong aesthetic really go hand in hand.
